“Exquisite” by Aurealis, released September 25, 2026, pulled me in straight away. Built on euphoric synth-pop production, bouncy drums, layered vocals and a warm, polished groove, the track has an immediate appeal that makes it easy to return to.
But beneath its glossy surface is a much more complicated story. The song explores the experience of being intensely attracted to someone when you already know that acting on those feelings would cross a line. Rather than turning that attraction into an excuse, Aurealis keeps the focus on the internal struggle, the stolen glances, nervousness, racing thoughts and imagined conversations that never happen.

The repeated “mind, mind, mind” hook adds to that sense of mental fixation before the song opens into the striking refrain, “You’re absolutely exquisite.” It captures the strange rush of recognizing someone’s beauty while simultaneously reminding yourself to keep your distance.
The accompanying visual world strengthens that tension. Its black, white and silver aesthetic, mirrors, reflections and two figures circling one another give the song a sleek cinematic identity, almost like watching desire and restraint physically play out on screen.
There is plenty to enjoy here musically, too. The smooth vocals sit comfortably against the electronic production, while the arrangement keeps the track energetic without losing its emotional tension. “Exquisite” is less about forbidden romance than the complicated reality of simply having a feeling, and choosing what to do with it.
