Kamil Koksa and Mia’s “High on the Holidays (Another One of Those Nights),” released on October 2, 2026, offers a different perspective on the festive season. While Christmas music often focuses on celebration and togetherness, this indie-pop release explores the loneliness that can surface when the world appears cheerful but personal circumstances tell a different story.

The lyrics place the listener inside a familiar holiday scene: Christmas lights glowing outside, traffic moving through snowy streets, and someone struggling with the feeling of being alone. The recurring desire to go home becomes the emotional centre of the song, suggesting a longing for comfort and belonging rather than simply a physical destination. This contrast between festive surroundings and private sadness gives the track a relatable quality, especially for listeners who find the holiday season more complicated than the celebrations suggest.
“High on the Holidays” is a nice Christmas song with a smooth, warm sound. Its shimmering synths, pulsing rhythm, and layered vocal harmonies give the production a cinematic quality, balancing the lyrics’ melancholy with an accessible pop arrangement. The vocals complement the instrumentation well, maintaining the track’s atmosphere without overwhelming its central theme.

One of the song’s strengths is how it brings an alternative emotional perspective to holiday music. Instead of pretending that everyone feels joyful in December, Kamil Koksa and Mia acknowledge the isolation some people experience during a season built around togetherness. “High on the Holidays” offers a modern festive soundtrack for listeners who appreciate their Christmas music with a little emotional complexity. It captures the glow of the season while recognising that sometimes, all someone really wants is to feel at home. Pre-save on Spotify (Out Dec 6): Https://push.fm/ps/highontheholidays
