Renowned Ghanaian Gospel icon and songwriter, Rev. YABS, has expressed his willingness to collaborate with dancehall sensation Shatta Wale, under the condition that he has creative control over the content of the upcoming track.
During an interview on Akoma FM with Ama Serwah Sarpong, the clergyman shared that if Shatta Wale were to propose a collaboration, he would indeed accept the offer, but with a caveat. Rev.

“If Shatta Wale wants to work with me, I’ll allow it but I’ll determine the words of the song, not him,” he said.
YABS emphasized that he would meticulously review the lyrical content that the ‘Dancehall King’ artist brings to the table, ensuring that their collaborative effort produces a harmonious and meaningful piece of music.
“If the content is not good, I will not sing and I will not allow him to do it as well. I will show him the right thing so that we will make the upcoming track a beautiful one,” he stated.

Referred to as Rev. Yaw Agyeman Badu, also known as Rev YABS, he addressed concerns regarding potential criticism from individuals, particularly regarding his association with Shatta Wale. He asserted that if they were to collaborate, he believes that any negative judgments, particularly concerning his personal image, would be unfounded.
In essence, Rev. YABS is open to a collaboration with Shatta Wale, but he emphasizes the importance of maintaining a high standard of content in their joint musical endeavor, aiming for a positive and uplifting outcome.

“Again, when we are going to do the show, I will make him dress in a way that for someone who doesn’t know Shatta Wale or hasn’t seen him before, will have no negative comment about how he looks,” he indicated.
In addition, he noted that “The condemnation that is done by the masses is not right. The bible talks about not judging people.”
