Former president John Dramani Mahama has given his assurance that if he regains power after the 2024 general elections, he will adopt a firm and resolute approach in combating corruption. During a virtual address to National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawyers on September 2, 2023, Mahama emphasized his commitment to taking a different and more proactive stance against corruption compared to the current president’s approach.

“Clearing agent” is a terminology that has been used in political circles to describe president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s perceived exoneration of appointees accused of corruption in the past.
