Kumawood actress opens up about heartbreaking loss of daughter

Renowned Kumawood actress, Nana Yaa Appiah, recently spoke openly about the tragic events that led to the untimely passing of her beloved daughter, Naa Adoma.

During a candid interview on the show One Ghana, she bravely shared the sequence of events that unfolded, shedding light on the challenges and emotional turmoil she endured during this difficult period.

According to Nana Yaa Appiah, the heart-wrenching journey began on an ordinary Monday when her daughter didn’t go to school.

Sensing that something was wrong, Nana Yaa Appiah persisted in trying to understand the situation. Despite Naa Adoma insisting she wasn’t sick, she promised to go to school the following day. Unfortunately, Tuesday arrived, and once again, Naa Adoma didn’t attend school.

Deeply concerned about her daughter’s well-being, Nana Yaa Appiah threatened to take her to the hospital if she didn’t comply.

However, Naa Adoma, determined to go to school instead, resisted her mother’s advice. Frustrated, Nana Yaa Appiah resorted to stern measures, admitting, “I got angry and took off my slippers to hit her.”

Eventually, Naa Adoma reluctantly agreed to go to the hospital. The diagnosis, however, came as a shock. Nana Yaa Appiah revealed, “Naa Adoma was diagnosed with an infection and malaria, and her blood level was low.” It became apparent that her daughter’s health had significantly deteriorated.

Seeking solace in the reassurances of the hospital staff, Nana Yaa Appiah remained concerned. She shared, “The doctor confirmed the severity of the situation, but Naa Adoma remained stubborn.” Naa Adoma preferred to sit outside when the lights went off, claiming it was too hot indoors.

The heart-wrenching tale took a devastating turn as Nana Yaa Appiah recounted the final moments of her daughter’s life with tears in her eyes. She emotionally recalled, “I was at home when I received a call that my daughter was in critical condition and urgently needed blood.” Filled with fear and trembling, she hurried to the hospital.
