Sometimes the best song ideas arrive over dinner. For songwriter Matthew Carley, one began with a simple question to his wife, Kimberly, and daughter, Adeline: What would your perfect day look like?
He imagined an extravagant answer: Beverly Hills, designer shopping, a luxurious lunch, and perhaps a spa treatment. Their answer was much closer to home. Start with Starbucks, browse Target, hunt for bargains at TJ Maxx, and finish at HomeGoods. That conversation became the inspiration for “A Women’s Perfect Day,” arriving October 23, 2026.

The song turns a familiar shopping itinerary into a humorous family story. A latte kicks things off before the search for the things a home apparently cannot live without. Along the way come a Jersey Mike’s lunch, a stop at Nana’s Ice Cream, and the thrill of finding a deal worth telling friends about.
The destination is HomeGoods, where an ordinary afternoon can become a treasure hunt. The humor comes from recognizing the ritual: the excitement of an unexpected find, the justification for one more purchase, and the satisfaction of a bargain.
Beneath the jokes is an affectionate story about Kimberly and Adeline enjoying time together. Carley took a conversation that surprised him and turned it into a celebration of their idea of a great day. It is a reminder that an ideal outing does not have to involve a plane ticket or a grand occasion. Sometimes coffee, a few favorite stores, and the right company are enough.

For Carley, whose creative direction is Coastal Americana, everyday experiences provide the starting point for stories that blend humor, family, and familiar moments. This release carries that approach into the shopping cart, finding a song in the routines people know well.
“A Women’s Perfect Day” has been released today, October 23, 2026. Check it out and you will love it.
