The police have apprehended two individuals suspected to be involved in a robbery and assault case against a mobile money operator that occurred on Monday, February 12, in Walewale, North East Region.
According to law enforcement, the arrests resulted from a thorough intelligence-led operation, leading to the apprehension of the suspects at their hideout.

In a press statement released by the police on Saturday, February 17, it was revealed that the two suspects, identified as Zakaria Yamusa, also known as Vandam, and Fatao Issah, are alleged to have fatally shot two individuals, including a mobile money vendor, and wounded seven others during the incident.
Moreover, the police assured the public that the intelligence-led operation is ongoing, with continued efforts to apprehend any other individual(s) involved in the crime.
After the attack, the victim, identified as Rabiu, was rushed to Walewale Government Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assault took place at a bustling bus station near the Nalerigu junction along the Tamale-Bolga Road in the heart of the Walewale township.

They further confirmed that the assailants, numbering approximately three, arrived on motorcycles and fired warning shots before targeting the young operator with gunfire.
