One individual has been harmed and hospitalized following a disturbance in the Pru West constituency of the Bono East region during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries. The turmoil erupted when purported supporters of a parliamentary hopeful, Alhaji Gariba Iddrisu, reportedly assaulted a man during a gathering.
The incident transpired around 1:00 am, with the victim identified as Tijani, serving as a Deputy Nasara Coordinator. Gariba, a former District Chief Executive (DCE), is engaged in a heated competition with the current MP and Deputy Roads Minister, Stephen Jalulah.

Tijani, reportedly aligned with Jalulah’s faction, was targeted after he attended a meeting of Gariba’s supporters, allegedly to gather information. Recounting his experience, Tijani stated he had no ill intentions when he approached the group to inquire about their activities. However, he was ambushed by about five supporters who assaulted him severely.
Presently, Tijani is receiving medical care at the Abaase Health Centre.
