The Akatsi South Police Command has recovered human remains suspected to be those of Louis Agbogli, a 28-year-old motor rider who went missing on April 21. Agbogli, a resident of Akatsi in the Volta Region of Ghana, was last seen picking up a female passenger on his motorcycle from Akatsi to the Kpetoe area.
Chief Superintendent Isaac Baah, the Akatsi South Municipal Police Commander, provided details of the case, stating that Agbogli’s father reported his son’s disappearance on April 27. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, an 18-year-old girl named Regina Dagba from Asafotsi-Dagbakope, sought Agbogli’s services to transport her to Adetsewui on April 20.

Due to the suspect’s financial constraints, Agbogli voluntarily added GH¢ 3.00 to cover the transportation cost. The next day, the suspect called Agbogli to express gratitude and requested him to take her to Kpetoe, which he agreed to despite warnings from fellow riders.
Upon reaching Kpetoe, the suspect persuaded Agbogli to accompany her to a village called Nyatsive, from which he never returned. Concerned about his whereabouts, Agbogli’s family and friends became worried.
The suspect, along with her boyfriend Etse Datsomor, were eventually apprehended in Nyatsive, Togo, following a joint operation between Ghanaian and Togolese authorities. During interrogation, both suspects admitted to murdering Agbogli.

Following a court order, the police, in collaboration with Togolese counterparts, accompanied Etse to a gravel pit site between Kpetoe and Nyatsive, where bones and a skull were discovered. The body had decomposed, leaving only skeletal remains.
The suspect also led the police to a nearby bush where Agbogli’s motorcycle was found, close to the alleged murder scene. The recovered bones will be sent to the Forensic Laboratory in Accra for examination. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on June 2.
