Ayra Starr, the Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, has had to cancel her upcoming concerts in Berlin, Bergenfest, and Copenhagen due to difficulties with obtaining a visa. Ayra, known for her hit songs like “Bloody Samaritan” and “Rush,” took to Instagram to express her frustration and share how deeply the visa problems have affected her.
Apologizing to her fans, Ayra assured them that once the visa issues were resolved, she would make a triumphant return with an unforgettable performance.

“Visa Issues have hit hard! Sadly, I had to cancel my performance in Berlin, Bergenfest, and Copenhagen. It’s incredibly frustrating, but I promise to bring an unforgettable performance as soon as this issue is resolved. Hang in there, amazing fans,” she posted
Her popularity has been skyrocketing, and she has been in high demand for shows worldwide, gaining global recognition for her immense talent and artistry. Notably, “Rush” made her the first Nigerian female artist to achieve a solo entry on the UK Singles chart.
Unfortunately, visa problems can be a significant challenge for artists seeking to perform internationally. Artists, particularly from Africa and other developing nations, often face visa-related obstacles that result in show cancellations or delays, as highlighted in a UNESCO report. These hurdles can arise from bureaucratic processes, strict documentation requirements, or unforeseen circumstances.
