Social media is filled with reports alleging that Black Sherif, the artist behind the popular song “Kwaku the traveller,” has been arrested by Ghanaian security agencies upon his arrival at Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
The 21-year-old musician was supposedly taken to the police headquarters in Accra due to a breach of contract involving a show scheduled for July 4 in Greece, which he failed to fulfill.

Affectionately known as Blacko, he was apparently booked to perform on a cruise ship in Greece and reportedly charged US$40,000 for the gig, receiving half of the payment in advance.
Reports suggest that Black Sherif was apprehended at the airport as he had been placed on a stop list following a complaint from the client involved in the contractual dispute.
As of now, Black Sherif’s team has not officially confirmed the arrest, and officials from the Ghana Police Service have not provided any statements on the matter.
