Goat ‘arrested’ for attacking dog and primary school pupils in South Africa

A male goat named Akmed was forcibly taken from a residence in Mt View – Verulam in KZN, South Africa, following its aggressive behavior towards a dog and a group of schoolchildren.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) released a statement on Friday, April 26, 2024, stating that their officers responded to a call for help from a resident in the suburb.

According to the caller, the goat was attacking her dog. Upon arrival, RUSA officers were informed that the same goat had previously attacked several students on their way to a nearby primary school. Despite several attempts to locate the owner, the officers were unsuccessful, prompting them to remove the animal from the area.

The goat was then transported to the RUSA Headquarters. In a subsequent update, RUSA reported that the goat had been returned to its owner.
