Google Meet Now Offers Full HD Video to Google One Subscribers and Other Paid Workspace Users on the Web

Google Meet is now offering 1080p video to all qualifying Workspace users and Google One subscribers that have 2TB or more storage space on their device. Users may now set their Google Meet video resolution to 1080p using the new feature. The new Full HD quality option is only available when using a PC with a 1080p camera for Google Meet on the Web. Users with personal Google Accounts are not able to access the service. Recently, the company added the ability to disable the video feeds of the other players.

Users will now be able to set their video quality to 1080p in Google Meet’s settings menu, according to a blog post by Google. The feature will be disabled by default, and users will be prompted to enable it before participating in a meeting. According to Google’s blog post, users must have a computer with a 1080p camera and adequate CPU power in meetings to use this function.

Google Meet’s 1080p video option is presently available to premium Google Workspaces users, including Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and others. This capability is also available to Google One members with 2TB or more of storage space.

Users of Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Education Fundamentals, Frontline, Nonprofits, G Suite Basic, and Business, as well as individuals with personal Google Accounts, are not eligible for the new feature.

Google Meet provided the ability to turn off the video feed of the other participants a few days ago, allowing users to focus solely on their meeting view and the presenter, via a new Audio Only option in the menu. Beginning April 18, all Google Workspace subscribers, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers, will have access to the service.
