The Guinness World Records has responded to a social media post made by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci regarding the delay in verifying her ‘cook-a-thon’ attempt.
Hilda Baci undertook a cooking marathon with the aim of breaking the world record for the longest individual cooking time. The 26-year-old Nigerian chef successfully accomplished her task by continuously cooking for four days, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes held by Indian chef Lata Tondon.

Hilda Baci achieved a new record of 100 hours, but the Guinness World Records has not yet officially verified her achievement.
In a tweet, the Guinness World Records explained that they are currently reviewing all the evidence before formally confirming her record. On her Twitter page, Hilda Baci expressed her anticipation by stating that she constantly checks her email for confirmation.
She tweeted on June 1, “Not me refreshing my email every second since we submitted all the evidence to Guinness World Records.” In response to Hilda Baci’s post, the official Twitter handle of the Guinness World Records reassured her that their records team is currently examining the evidence.
They replied, “Our records team is working on it.”
