Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate aspiring to carry the flag, has claimed that he enjoys greater popularity within the Muslim community when compared to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He asserts that his contributions to the Muslim community surpass those of the Vice President.

“Even Bawumia knows that I’ve got more votes in the Muslim communities than him. I’ve done more for the Muslim communities in Ghana than Bawumia,” he said.

He continued, “When he gets to his people, he tells them they should vote for him because he is a Northerner and he is also a Muslim. So if you’re an Akan and you are afraid, or if you’re a Christian and you’re afraid, it is up to you.
I won’t play tribal and religious politics, but if they try and play the religious card and the tribal card, I will give them bombshells”.
