12 individuals, including a former Assembly member, have been convicted of the murder of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama in Denkyira Obuasi, Central Region, on May 29, 2017. Following a unanimous guilty verdict from a seven-member panel, the Assemblyman for the area, William Baah, along with Bernard Asamoah (known as Daddy), Kofi Nyarko (known as Abortion), Akwasi Baah, Kwame Tuffour, Joseph Appiah Kubi, and Michael Anim, were found guilty. The remaining convicted individuals are John Bosie, Charles Kwaning, Emmanuel Badu, and Kwadwo Anim.

However, two of the accused, Bismark Donkor and Bismarck Abanga, were acquitted and released after the jury found them not guilty of charges related to murder, abetment to murder, and conspiracy to commit murder.
