The Chiefs and Elders of Nogokpo in the Volta Region have issued a warning to Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, stating that unless he personally visits their palace within 14 days, starting from Friday, June 2, they will disclose the identities of the true controllers of heavenly power to him.
In the midst of the controversy, it has been reported that the esteemed founder and leader of Perez Chapel International, Agyinasare, has relocated to the United States with his wife due to the anger of the Nogokpo Chiefs.
To provide context, Agyinasare drew the ire of the Nogokpo community and others when he declared in a recent sermon that “Nogokpo is the demonic headquarters of the Volta Region.” Although the Christian leader clarified three days later that he meant no harm and did not intend to insult or degrade the people of Nogokpo, the Chiefs and Elders argue that Agyinasare did not retract his statement, offer an apology, or express regret. As a result, they have demanded his personal appearance within fourteen days to provide an explanation.

Instead, he attempted to justify his statement, and that is when we realized that he was taking us for granted or perhaps underestimating our power. This is extremely disrespectful; he disrespected his wife and insulted us by challenging the authority of his in-laws.”
“No amount of grammar or English can alter what he said, and we were anticipating a sincere apology, not grammar lessons. We have given him a 14-day ultimatum; if he wishes, he may come and perform the required action; if he wishes, he may refuse. He can choose to decline, and we will determine who controls cosmic power. “If he does not do what is required, we will use him as a scapegoat,†he stated.
Nufialaga Kobla Mawufemor Nornyibey added, “What he said has cast a shadow over Nogokpo and the Volta region, especially among the youth who are struggling to find employment and our women who are planning to get married.â€
