On October 24, 2023, a tragic incident occurred when a Kia truck carrying beer crashed directly into the office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) located in Oko Dan, within the La township of the Greater Accra Region. Sadly, this unfortunate occurrence resulted in the loss of one life, and another individual sustained serious injuries.

Initial inquiries indicate that the truck driver faced challenges due to a malfunction in the brake pads, leading to the devastating accident. In response to this situation, emergency services swiftly deployed fire service and law enforcement officers to the site to offer essential aid and handle the aftermath.
A member of the Public Relations Department of the Ghana National Fire Service, ADO1 Alex Nartey, speaking on the matter said, “Our control room received a call about an accident on the Labadi station road. We quickly came and upon arrival, they realized that they had to call their rescue team to augment the process. It was a truck full of beer that had run through the NPP office at Labadi killing one person in the process and critically injuring another.”

“Our men were able to help in rescuing the casualties involved. As of now, the operation has been successful. My condolences to the family of the bereaved. We will advise people to be very cautious to avoid such incidents during the festive season,” ADO1 Alex Nartey added.
