The High Court in Accra has set the date of Thursday, August 31, for delivering a verdict on the Special Prosecutor’s request to freeze the bank accounts of Cecilia Dapaah and confiscate certain funds discovered at her residence in Abelemkpe.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is currently investigating Madam Dapaah on charges related to corruption and corruption-related activities. This investigation stems from the revelation that she had over $1 million stored in her Abelemkpe residence.

This development occurs simultaneously with ongoing legal proceedings by the police and the Attorney General against individuals accused of pilfering the alleged funds from the former minister’s home.
Madam Dapaah gained widespread attention in July 2023 when the Chronicle Newspaper reported that her household staff were taken to court on allegations of stealing $1 million, 300,000 euros, substantial amounts of cedis, and personal belongings belonging to her and her spouse.
Following a public outcry, Cecilia Dapaah subsequently resigned from her position. She was apprehended by the OSP and later granted bail.

On Monday, July 24, 2023, officials from the Office of the Special Prosecutor conducted a search at the former Minister of Sanitation’s residence. In the course of this operation, the OSP document states that they discovered US$590,000 and GH¢2.730,000 at her Abelemkpe home.
