Shatta Wale and his close collaborator Medikal have stirred up excitement on social media by announcing their plan to dedicate a day for collective prayer for the advancement of Ghana’s music industry, along with their substantial fanbases. Clearly, this is a key element of their pre-event preparations leading up to their annual Freedom Wave Festival, scheduled to take place from December 20th to 25th, 2023.

According to the event’s promotional flyer, Shatta Wale, Medikal, and their supporters will come together on December 23, 2023, at the Accra Sports Stadium to offer prayers for the music industry. Other activities lined up for the five-day festival include the gathering of regional fan bases, the exhibition of Shatta Movement merchandise, a preliminary concert featuring emerging artists, a rehearsal for the performers, and the main concert itself.

The 2022 edition of the eagerly anticipated Freedom Wave concert was a remarkable success, marked by Shatta Wale achieving an unprecedented feat by filling the entire stadium to its maximum capacity.
