Deputy Attorney General, Alfred Tuah Yeboah, has clarified that his office is not involved in investigating the source of former Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Dapaah’s wealth. Instead, this matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), and the Deputy Attorney General’s office aims to avoid any potential conflicts with their ongoing investigation.
In a statement given on Accra-based 3FM, Alfred Tuah Yeboah explained that while they are not fully aware of the details of the police investigations into the source of the funds in question, they are aware that the OSP is currently conducting its own investigation on this matter. To ensure a smooth and independent process, they have decided not to interfere and respect the OSP’s mandate.

The OSP is responsible for investigating the source of the specific money in question and conducting a lifestyle audit. Meanwhile, the Deputy Attorney General’s office is reviewing the police’s docket related to the two housekeepers who are alleged to have stolen Madam Dapaah’s money.
The Attorney-General, Godfred Dame, will assess the docket to determine if there is sufficient evidence for prosecution or if additional charges may be necessary.
The case originated from a stealing report filed with the police by Mr. Daniel Osei-Kuffour and Hon. Cecilia Dapaah. Following police investigations, arrests were made, stolen items were recovered, and the docket was submitted to the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice for review and guidance.
