The police have made progress in the investigation of the murder of Josephine Asante Tandoh, a manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA). Two suspects, Richard Kwabena Kwakye and Dominic Owusu, have been arrested in Burkina Faso after fleeing there following the incident, and have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder.

The suspects had laid an ambush for the victim around her residence and followed her vehicle into her compound before stabbing and strangling her to death. Richard Kwabena Kwakye has confessed to the crime and named Dominic Owusu as his accomplice. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the motive behind the murder. The incident occurred on January 13, 2019, and the case has taken over three years to come to this point. The suspects have been arraigned and remanded by a Tema District Court to assist with further investigations. The previous accused persons, Christian Agyei and Amos Apraku, were discharged by the court after the prosecution withdrew charges against them based on advice from the Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
