The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, appears displeased with former President John Mahama’s decision to refer to President Nana Akufo-Addo as Jack Toronto.
According to the veteran journalist, this is a nickname widely recognized by many, and he cannot understand why Mr. Mahama is using it to address Akufo-Addo.
“We all know that my nickname is Jack Toronto so why has former President Mahama given it to President Akufo-Addo without my permission. He has just taken it away; no permission or copyright, why??? he questioned on Accra-based Peace FM.

The name “Jack Toronto” has been making waves in recent days following its use by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer during a town hall meeting in Tamale.
Mr. Mahama strongly reiterated his belief that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has mishandled the country’s affairs and needs to be removed from power. He emphasized the need for accountability for every member of the Akufo-Addo administration concerning the nation’s economic situation, asserting that all government officials will be held responsible for their actions and inactions under his leadership.
Mr. Mahama’s remarks were prompted by the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s call for Ghanaians to elect him as the next president, granting him the authority to implement policies aimed at fostering the country’s growth.
