A group of students studying at Accra Technical Training Centre has found themselves embroiled in a controversy that has created quite a stir within their educational institution, according to reports. These students had previously gained notoriety for their impressive dance skills, which had become widely popular within the school.

However, they are now facing the possibility of suspension due to their participation in a music video produced by Ghanaian Afrobeatz artist OliveTheBoy, where they appeared wearing their school uniforms. What has caused outrage is the fact that they featured in a video titled “Goodsin,” which contains explicit themes, particularly focusing on sexual matters. This marks a significant departure from the wholesome image they had previously maintained.

School authorities have expressed their dissatisfaction and have initiated an investigation into why the students chose to be part of the controversial video while wearing their school uniforms, which is against the school’s established rules and regulations.

Initially, these students had garnered recognition for their dancing talents after a performance set to the song “Apotheke” by Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy within the school premises. This time, they decided to showcase their skills outside the campus.

The video quickly gained traction on various social media platforms and has divided the school community. Some argue that students should have the freedom to pursue their interests outside of school, while others believe that their actions have harmed the school’s reputation.

This controversy has also sparked discussions about the roles of educators and parents in monitoring and guiding students’ activities beyond the classroom. Many are questioning whether the students received adequate guidance and supervision regarding their involvement in such a video.

Presently, the school’s administration is reviewing the matter and considering disciplinary measures, including potential suspension for the students involved. This incident underscores the challenges that educators face in balancing the encouragement of students’ creativity with upholding the institution’s values and standards.

As the investigation unfolds, the students find themselves in an unfavorable spotlight, with their futures hanging in the balance as the school determines the appropriate course of action.
