
Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann, the host of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), shared insights in a frank interview about one of the most significant challenges she encountered and its impact on her life.
She described her failed marriage as a notable setback, recognizing it as a substantial failure due to the societal expectation that marriage signifies a lifelong commitment. Prof. Kaufmann highlighted that her divorce was a challenging phase, yet she has since navigated through it and emerged as a stronger individual.

Despite the upheaval, she acknowledged her blessing of having three children – two daughters and a son – from her marriage to her Caucasian partner.
Drawing from her personal experience, the NSMQ host offered valuable guidance to young individuals, emphasizing the importance of making informed decisions and comprehending the depth of commitments before entering marriage. She stressed the dynamic nature of individuals, pointing out that people evolve and change over time. Therefore, finding a life partner who can grow alongside you is crucial.
